Procrastination has always been a nudnick. A pain in the rear. We encounter it everyday, every minute. In a fight between your hard will and procrastination, it’s a win for the latter always. Well, almost always.
The thing about procrastination is that you know that it’s bad for you and you must not be doing it! But, alas..you just want to enjoy the present and tend to postpone things.
The reason behind procrastination is rather simple-
You don’t have a definitive goal to achieve. You don’t have a big enough motivation. You just have work to do, which seem trivial for you at the moment.
Be it playing an online strategy game (my favourite-Clash of Clans) or surfing YouTube or checking out the number of likes you got on your new profile pic or maybe a the status you updated or just browsing through Quora or Pinterest, all of these are always more attractive and thus more important for you at that moment. It’s not that you don’t care about your future; it’s just that annoying mental voice of your’s that says-“You’re plans for future can wait, 5 minutes is not going to make a difference.”
Wrong! 5 minutes will not make a difference but 5*100 minutes does.
The relation between heart(I don’t know what to call it so let’s just stick to ‘heart’) and mind is somewhat ironical. Your mind knows what to do and what not to do. He is always right. Yet, she always has other plans. She loves shortcuts. She gets easily distracted and loves colorful expensive stuff. She has always been like that. She is always a hole in that very big pocket(potential) of yours through which money(time) just slips out without coming to your notice. But, you love her. You can’t live without her. You crib for her. In short- It’s a love-hate relationship!
