Did you know that by the time you’re reading this, the revenue through in-app purchases from mobile games expected to be around $8 billion and increasing steadily every day. Previously we have discussed with you and presented an Infographic about The Evolution of  Arcade Games, i recommend you to check that out if you haven’t already. Now coming to our main topic, which is The Evolution of Mobile Gaming , the first mobile game was Tetris. Tetris appeared as the first mobile game in 1994 aboard the Hagenuk MT-2000, a phone designed and manufactured in Denmark by the Hagenuk corporation.

After Tetris, it’s our all time favorite  Snake. It’s launched in 1997 and an estimated 350 million mobile phones had the Snake game installed. A lot of games were developed back then and only a few were considered as successful as Tetris and Snake and also the games were not so appealing visually. And this changed after the introduction of colored screens and Java into gaming. After Angry birds and Candy Crush, there is no looking back for mobile gaming industries. A lot of successful and innovative games were developed on every platform.
