Wait is over. After months of widespread rumours and leaks, Nokia officially launches its latest Windows Smartphone, the Lumia 1020, in New York City. Lumia 1020 Smartphone boosts 41mp camera.

With this new technology NOKIA has entered into the next chapter of Smartphone technology. From last few years this company has lagged behind in comparison with other companies in the handset category and losts its market share over the past few years globally. With the new phone launch, Nokia has again entered into the competitive market of Samsung and Apple. 

Nokia’s president Stephen Elop has said that the Smartphone Lumia 1020 handset based on the Windows 8 operating system, will be a game changer for Smartphone photography.  While highlighting its features, Elop claimed that the device was far superior in terms of its photographic capabilities than the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Apple’s iPhone.

The Lumia 1020 has a second generation 41-megapixel sensor and enables sharp detailing through Nokia’s PureView technology. The features of this phone itself describe it is different from other Smartphones of Apple and Samsung. The phone specification are- 10.4 mm thick snugly design wise into the Lumia range. The Lumia 1020 will be available in U.S market from 26th July. The date for the Launch of the phone in India has not yet been declared.

Nokia Lumia 1020 comes in 3 colours yellow, black and white. 1020 will feature OIS, BSI, lossless zoom, six Carl Zeiss lenses, and 1080p video capture, xenon flash for stills and LED flash for video.

The user can be able to take 34 and 38MP pictures, depending on expected ratio. The 1020 will also simultaneously take 5MP photo shots that are friendly for Facebook and SkyDrive, etc… The phone has ball bearings and tiny magnetic motors built-in to aid in optical image stabilization. If you’re having trouble in changing settings or do other imaging adjustments, the 1020 offers a Pro Camera lens app that includes white balance, ISO, exposure and others.

Nokia has also added an optional camera grip which adds external battery and a tripod mount. Manual camera controls include ISO, shutter speed, exposure compensation, white balance and manual focus. Nokia also announced a partnership with Hipstamatic in which the camera app maker will launch Oggl Pro alongside the release of the Lumia 1020.

No true camera-oriented device would be complete without accessories, there’s a snap-on camera grip that provides a shutter release, tripod socket and a sculpted hand grip. A snap-on wireless charging shell, as seen on previous Lumia models will be available as well.

Outside of the imaging prowess, the Lumia 1020 isn’t very far removed from the Lumia 925, which was recently launched not too long ago. The Lumia 1020 will be available exclusively from AT&T. The phone is debuting in the United States with AT&T T  on July 26, at $300 on a two-year contract. Nokia promises that the Lumia 1020 will be available in China and parts of Europe, “in this quarter.” Specific dates for an India launch have not yet been declared.
